Child and Adolescent Therapy
Child Therapy
Child therapy incorporates play therapy, games, and drawing. In addition sessions will also include cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness activities. I will work with your child in a way that helps them express themselves while learning new methods for coping, social and communication skills that are developmentally appropriate.

When your child participates in therapy, it is expected that parents, are active members in our work together. You should be engaged in the process and demonstrate a willingness to be involved in session and receptive to feedback. Engaging your child in child therapy is not about "fixing" your child, or telling you how your child needs to be parented. Instead, it is about allowing and providing your child the space to open up and connect. New parenting skills will be learned and developed throughout the process.

Adolescent Therapy
Adolescent therapy offers the opportunity for teens to speak about what is going on in their lives, connect with their emotions, and explore other ways of coping. Being a teenager is tough and in todays society teens face different types of challenges than at any other time. Being a parent to a teen can be just as difficult and stressful on the parent. You may have fears and concerns and not know how to address them with your teen.
When participating in adolescent therapy it is expected that parents attend sessions periodically and are active participants in the process. Though individual adolescent therapy is beneficial, working to address the problems together is essential. You know your child better than anyone else, and your insight is invaluable and encouraged. Addressing this from a collaborative and systemic approach helps your teen feel understood, loved, and supported.
